STable Lamp
Table Lamp
STable Lamp was selected to participate in the XIV edition of the Florence Biennale 2023 - International Exhibition of Contemporary Art and Design at Fortezza da Basso in Florence.
The theme chosen for this edition was I AM YOU - Individual and Collective Identities in Contemporary Art and Design and it focuses on the concepts of individual and collective identities, in their multiple philosophical, psychological, sociological and cultural meanings. On the one hand, in fact, the concept of identity can be associated with the characteristics that distinguish us from others as unique and unrepeatable individuals (think about our personal data and our genetic heritage). On the other hand, identity is linked to the need to belong to one or more groups (or communities) which helps to define the way we are perceived by ourselves and by others.
STable Lamp, playing on the double meaning of 'stable' and 'table lamp', wants to represents the search for stability and balance on this journey through the search for oneself. This work wants to be also an example of how, in an era marked by global events (pandemic, war, fight for human rights, environmental crisis), design can questioning current issues such as the sense of destabilization that is directing the humanity towards new and complex scenarios.
